Arms out, ball in hand, and absolutely certain about it, this chimpanzee is crocheted with the kind of expressive detail that makes it look like it's mid-thought. Give it a shelf, a desk, or a windowsill and it will immediately become the most characterful thing in the room. Handcrafted stitch by stitch by Syrian refugee women in the Bekaa Valley.
This handmade product is crocheted by Syrian refugees and vulnerable local women in Bekaa Valley, Lebanon, where Refugee Protection International funds its refugee-led partner, Multi Aid Programs, to train women in their craft. Proceeds support women's livelihoods, non-formal primary schools for refugee children in Lebanon, and malnutrition treatment in Syria.
