Crocheted by Syrian refugee women in Lebanon

Our newest holiday gnome figurine is handmade in festive tones of red, white and gray using the art of amigurumi.  This plush Scandinavian gnome made by refugee women is a must-have gift for the winter holidays. Inspired by Nordic folklore of Sweden's Christmas Jul Tomten, Norway and Denmark's Nisse, and Finland's Tontte gonk. 

This handmade product is crocheted by Syrian refugee women in Lebanon, where Refugee Protection International supports its refugee-led partner, Multi Aid Programs, to train women in their craft. Proceeds support the women's livelihoods and non-formal primary schools for refugee children in Lebanon, along with maternal and child health in communities recovering from conflict in northeast Syria.

Material: Each item is lovingly crocheted using the amigurumi method with cotton and acrylic string, stuffed with cotton.
