Crocheted by conflict-affected Syrian and Lebanese women in Lebanon

With brown boots planted firmly and a bright saddle across its back, this little llama looks ready to wander straight into a desert celebration. Its upright pose, textured crochet, and choice of colorful saddle styles give it the spirited look of a tiny traveler carrying stories instead of cargo.

This handmade product is crocheted by Syrian refugee and vulnerable Lebanese women in Lebanon, where Refugee Protection International supports its refugee-led partner, Multi Aid Programs, to train women in their craft. Proceeds support women's livelihoods, non-formal primary schools for Syrian refugee children in Lebanon, and malnutrition treatment in Syria.
