Crocheted by Syrian refugee women in Lebanon

This rooster looks like he has somewhere to be and plans to arrive with flair. The lavender pants add an unexpected twist to his orange and cream feathers, while his long tail and proud little stance give him plenty of presence from every angle. Handmade in the amigurumi style, he feels like the kind of farmyard character who would absolutely insist on being noticed.

This handmade product is crocheted by Syrian refugee women in Lebanon, where Refugee Protection International supports its refugee-led partner, Multi Aid Programs, to train women in their craft. Proceeds support the women's livelihoods, non-formal primary schools for Syrian refugee children in Lebanon, and malnutrition treatment in Syria.

Material: Each item is lovingly crocheted using the amigurumi technique with cotton and acrylic string and stuffed with cotton.
