Crocheted by Syrian refugee women in Lebanon

Our Scandinavian-style forest gnome comes in warm earth colors. This plush amigurumi figurine is made by refugee women inspired by the Nordic gonk folklore of Tomte (in Sweden), Nisse (in Norway and Denmark) and Tonttu (in Finland).

This handmade product is crocheted by Syrian refugee women in Lebanon, where Refugee Protection International supports its refugee-led partner, Multi Aid Programs, to train women in their craft. Proceeds support the women's livelihoods and non-formal primary schools for refugee children in Lebanon, along with maternal and child health in communities recovering from conflict in northeast Syria.

Material: Each item is lovingly crocheted using the amigurumi method with cotton and acrylic string, stuffed with cotton.
