Crocheted by Syrian refugee women in Lebanon

This goat looks like it wandered straight out of a flower-filled hillside. Black yarn hair frames its cream-colored body, while blue embroidered eyes, leafy green details, and bright pink flowers give it an especially lively, pastoral look. Crocheted by hand and standing about 5.5 inches tall, it feels equal parts farmyard character and storybook keepsake.

This handmade product is crocheted by Syrian refugee women in Bekaa Valley, Lebanon, where Refugee Protection International supports its refugee-led partner, Multi Aid Programs, to train women in their craft. Proceeds support refugee women's livelihoods, non-formal primary schools for Syrian refugee children, and maternal and child health in Syria.
